ACCUPLACER
Placement Testing for Math and English
What it’s about
ACCUPLACER is a computer adaptive-based test that determines your knowledge in reading, writing, and math as you prepare to enroll for college. ACCUPLACER uses an adaptive testing method, as you answer questions correctly they become more difficult. There is no time limit, you may take as much time as you need. If you need to brush up on your skills before taking the actual test, try taking a practice test. There are several listed online, we have posted a few below.

About your Remote Accuplacer Test and Testing Proctor:
Hello, my name is Cassandra Garcia. I am the Remote Accuplacer Proctor for Western New Mexico University. I will help you sign into your test and answer any questions you have as to how your test works. If you need an after-hours test (2pm-6pm MST) please let me know the previous week before you are ready to take your test so I can adjust my schedule accordingly. Also, if you are in a different time zone than New Mexico please keep in mind all tests are scheduled for New Mexico time zone (MST).
After scheduling your Accuplacer test I will send a Zoom meeting invitation to your email the day before your test. I use whatever email auto populated so it is best to correspond with me using the email you want the zoom invitation sent to. If you don’t see the email by the end of the work day the day before your test, please check your junk and spam folders, it will be titled “garciak9’s Zoom meeting”. This email will also include Accuplacer guidelines.
Your Accuplacer test MUST be completed on a laptop or desktop with audio and video capabilities. The Accuplacer platform does not support iPhone, iPad, tablets, or smartphones. You must stay on the Zoom meeting for the entire time of your test. This is so your test is being proctored as well as so I can answer any questions you might have. I cannot give reading definitions during your reading test, or other information pertaining to your test answers.
After your test, I will send your Accuplacer score report to your email along with an unofficial breakdown of your scores and information of how to get ahold of your advisor in case you don’t already have one. I cannot answer placement questions, those need to be directed to your advisor.
If you are not satisfied with your test scores, you can retest the following week if times are available.
How to Schedule Your Remote Accuplacer Test
First, have a requested date and time in mind. I can usually accommodate your schedule, but if not I will suggest a different day that I can accommodate the time you have requested, or propose the option to take your Accuplacer test at my earliest available time.
